The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee is searching for a Health Care Services Provider – Physical Therapy.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Perform as an HCSP for assigned athletes. Health care includes obtaining and interpreting health histories and evaluations, ordering clinical studies (within the scope of licensure), emergency cares, developing and executing case management plans, including rehabilitation programs through the use of active care, therapeutic modalities, and manual treatments, including soft tissue care.
- Provide on-site medical coverage as assigned for athletes during training and competition, including taping, assistance with warm-ups, assessment of environmental conditions, and evaluation and management of injuries and medical or traumatic emergencies.
- Facilitate patient management, including arranging referrals to outside providers when indicated or directed. Promptly communicate significant injury and illness to USOPC sports medicine leadership.
- Communicate to USOPC Sports Medicine leadership, and when appropriate, sport performance teams and NGB staff, to include coaches, the medical status of injured athletes while maintaining appropriate compliance with medical privacy laws.
- Perform additional medical-related duties as licensed and permitted by State law. Maintain continuous compliance with medical and legal requirements for the States of employment as well as any other states in which the individual provides or supports the USOPC or NGB at sporting events or assigned activities.
Qualifications include:
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
- Board Certification in field of expertise.
- State Licensure for California.
- Documented significant experience working with a variety of elite, high-performance athletes.
- 5 years of clinical experience.
- 3 years of sports medicine experience after licensure.
- Certificate of Additional Qualification (CAQ) in sports medicine preferred.
- Current Health Care Provider CPR certification.
- Dual licensure in Athletic Training preferred.
- Emergency medical training preferred.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist preferred.
- Anti-Doping and Safe Sport training completed with 10 days of start date.
