Having beaten the Miami Heat in Game 6, the Los Angeles Lakers and Lebron James are the NBA Champions. This is the 17th NBA Championship for the Lakers, but the first in 10 years, since they last won in 2010, led by Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Ron Artest.
This win for the Lakers marks Lebron James’s 4th NBA Championship victory with his third team – a feat that is second only to Robert Horry, who won 7 NBA Championships with three different teams during his 16-year career from 1992–2008.
However, Lebron’s performance is likely best compared to the player who is considered by many to be the greatest to ever play the game: Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan remains the only player who won the MVP, DPOY, and Scoring Title in a single season and holds the most scoring titles, most points per game in NBA history, and most points per game in the NBA finals.
Yet, Lebron James is a record holder in his own right, having surpassed Jordan in career points, playoff points, Most 30-point games in the playoffs, points in the All-Star games, and most consecutive double-digit scoring games.
Considering all this, we wanted to know your thoughts. We asked our audience who they thought was the greatest of all time.
The debate rages on. For the first time: We have a tie for our social poll results. Lebron and Jordan split the votes 50-50.
